The Objectives of the Society will be to prevent cruelty to animals and to alleviate the suffering of animals to the maximum possible extent. The means to be employed for the fulfilment of these objectives are: -
(a) Prevention of Cruelty to animals: Employing paid staff and enlisting active support of policy & voluntary workers to watch, warn or prosecute, as needful, all persons guilty of cruelty to animals.
(b) Ameliorative measures: Establishing or encouraging the establishment of animal shelters, water troughs, pinjrapoles and like, for providing shelters and other amenities to animals incapacitated for work by reason of old age, sickness or injury.
(c) Veterinary Assistance: Rendering of veterinary assistance to sick and injured animals by establishing veterinary hospital, animal clinics and animal ambulance, and such other means.
(d) Co-ordination: Co-ordinating its work with the government departments concerned with animal-welfare, with the Animal Welfare Board and with other animal welfare organizations, for promoting its objectives.
(e) Humane Education: Imparting education in relation to the humane treatment of animals, encouraging the formation of public opinion against the infliction of pain or suffering to animals, and for the promotion of animal welfare by means of lectures, books, posters, film shows, exhibitions and the like.
